Miguel cervantes books6/2/2023 ![]() ![]() Don Quixote: An unreadable masterpieceĪ popular example of a good book with bad writing is Miguel de Cervantes’ Don Quixote, which follows a seemingly insane Spanish nobleman-turned-knight on a quest to prove that chivalry is still alive. After all, how can a book be good and bad at the same time? The answer is complicated, but essentially boils down to the fact that Literature with a capital L is about much more than syntax or narrative development. However, while Tolstoy was convinced that Shakespeare’s work was objectively flawed, a close reading of his criticisms shows he was holding Shakespeare to the standards of an author rather than a playwright.Įven so, many readers concur that there are a number of books that are horribly written despite also being astounding works of literature. The Russian writer Leo Tolstoy famously hated the work of William Shakespeare. ![]() When judging the quality of a book, it is important to ask yourself whether or not you are being fair. ![]()

Robbie by ella frank6/1/2023 ![]() ✪ The Consequence of Rejection (Consequence #4) ✪.✪ Lisa Renee Jones ✪ MURDER NOTES ✪ #LilahLove1 ✪.✪ Recovered ✪ Jay Crownover ✪ Blog Tour ✪.I really loved the book and I guess it will only get better with book #2 - there's still so much story to tell about those guys! OK - that's it - nothing more to complain about! I always picture guys like Boris Becker, Ed Sheeran or Pumuckl (if you don't know Pumuckl - google him!) I have yet to meet a hot, sexy, dominant alpha guy that could be my romance hero with red hair. I just can't imagine a hot red-haired guy. WHY OH WHY does he have to have red hair?!?!?! It's described as auburn here, but it's still red and I hate that. A hot and sexy lawyer - very dominant ovary-exploding-material. ![]() Very confusing for this easily confused reader. There are some tiny little things I didn't love-love - but don't worry - that's just me - I'm very weird! I already had that one problem with other M/M books - I would prefer them to be in the first person POV - because as soon as we have more than 1 man being talked about it gets confusing for me with all the HE'S HIS HE HIM! And here we have 3 guys! Very confusing - you sometimes just don't know who is talking or thinking or who is talking about which of the other 2 guys. ![]()

Book the mystery of mrs christie6/1/2023 ![]() ![]() ![]() Investigators find her empty car on the edge of a deep, gloomy pond, the only clues some tire tracks nearby and a fur coat left in the car - strange for a frigid night. In December 1926, Agatha Christie goes missing. And it’s an entertaining ride! The synopsis Marie Benedict takes a fictional look at what happened during those 11 days. So this is where historical fiction comes in. And it was never confirmed what exactly happened-the mystery writer kept her greatest mystery close to her chest. I had no idea that beloved writer Agatha Christie disappeared for 11 days back in 1926. Christie, I knew instantly it was a must-read. When I read the premise for The Mystery of Mrs. I usually spend plenty of time Googling them after I finish the book! ![]() Some of my favorite ones are based on real people. ![]()

Lightbringer the burning white6/1/2023 ![]() ![]() ![]() Now that I’ve read it, I have to say that I’m both satisfied and also disappointed with it. This is one of my-along with many fantasy readers-most anticipated books of the year, to make sure that I’ll be able to appreciate it fully, I even binged reread the series from the beginning-something I rarely do-in preparation. Here we are, nine years since The Black Prism was first published, The Burning White-the fifth and final installment in the Lightbringer series by Brent Weeks-is finally out and with it, the Lightbringer pentalogy is officially over. As the case becomes national news, violence erupts in her neighborhood, and Starr finds herself and her family caught in the middle.
